It allows access to M.2 disks of up to 2 TB no matter which host computer it is connected to. The integrated cooling plate transfers the resulting waste heat from the SSD to the housing and thus optimally cools the SSD. This prevents the usual premature reduction of the transmission rate to protect against overheating.
