The combination of coating, the two aspherical glass elements and the three "extra-low dispersion glasses" reduces chromatic aberrations to a minimum and prevents unsightly light scattering. The glass construction consists of 13 glass elements divided into 12 groups and ensures sharp images from the centre of the image to the edge. 7 aperture blades create an almost circular bokeh when the aperture is open, while closing the aperture reveals crystal clear, star-shaped highlights.
