Thanks to the Plug & Play feature, the hard drive only needs to be connected to the computer via USB 3.0 to transfer data. You can start saving photos, music, videos, and files right away. The 4 TB WDBWLG0040HBK is pre-formatted in NTFS for immediate use with Windows starting from XP. It can also be reformatted for use with MacOS X.

Elements heißen bei WD die günstigen Festplatten – da wird an der Ausstattung gespart. Einzige Besonderheit ist eine Einschalttaste. Das Tempo der Elements ist hoch, erreicht aber nicht das Tempo des Testsiegers. Die WD gibt es in besonders vielen Speichergrößen, bis zu 20 Terabyte sind möglich – die kosten dann allerdings satte 450 Euro.
