- Bass-emphasised, spatial sound
- Close integration with MusicCast
- Seven HDMI inputs
- Unclear menus
- Somewhat cumbersome operation
Visually, the Yamaha RX-V6A stands out from the competition. The design looks more modern and should fit perfectly into most living rooms. In terms of sound, the AV reciever also has a lot to offer and impresses with a very spacious sound that can also pack a punch in the bass range...
- Clear, airy and spatial sound
- HDMI 2.1 via update, good multimedia equipment
- Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, many sound programmes
- No 11.2 channel processing
- little power in multi-channel operation
Yamaha leads the way with the number of HDMI 2.1 inputs, and the flexible streaming features and good sound are also pleasing. Unfortunately, the RX-V6A leaves a lot to be desired in the performance measurement, so that in the end it is only enough for a "satisfactory".
- chic, modern new design
- contemporary facilities
- Very well thought-out operating concept
- Pairing of wireless surround speakers possible via MusicCast
- weak on complex loads
The Yamaha RX-V6A is a solid AV receiver that convinces not only with its modern design. Anyone who wants to replace an older device and has been toying with Dolby Atmos for a while is well served here. And when the technical problems are solved at some point, the upgrade to HDMI 2.1 will be included.
The Yamaha RX-V6A can convince almost without compromises. The appearance may be a matter of taste, but we like the RX-V6A. We were not very enthusiastic about the first pictures, but from the moment the 7.2 channel AV receiver is in front of us, it really starts to please. Acoustically, you don't need to think twice...
