After an initial firing of the clay at a low temperature, reactive glazes are applied to the earthenware to give it its glossy appearance and colouring. The ceramic pieces are immersed in water when they come out of the kiln, which creates a thermal shock and produces the expected crackled effect.

The Magma collection draws its inspiration from the volcanic crater of Mount Fuji in Japan. In its Mint variant, the venous network traces the craters and testifies to the thermal depression resulting from the firing technique, just as the magma emerges after the volcano melts.
