Designer Mimmi Blomqvist wanted to create an unusual vase, but instead of cutting off the lid, she decided to leave it on. It was handsome, unusual and inviting.
Designer Mimmi Blomqvist wanted to create an unusual vase, but instead of cutting off the lid, she decided to leave it on. It was handsome, unusual and inviting.
And it also offered a certain contrast to the inconspicuous round shape. So she developed the idea further with an oversized cap and the Kappa series came out of that.
Nowadays it is a matter of course to work with round raw materials. That is why the vase is made from surplus glass from the glassworks. The result is a contemporary design object in which the designer was concerned with making a mark on the present.
