Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box
Question about Play HDMI Sync Box - 343098
Hello, I have gaming set up including the Samsung Odyssey G9 (https://www.digitec.ch/fr/s1/product/samsung-odyssey-g9-lc49g95tssuxen-49-5120-x-1440-pixels-moniteurs-12524523), and the Razer Chroma Keyboard, mouse pad and mouse (https://www.digitec.ch/fr/s1/product/razer-blackwidow-x-chroma-de-cable-claviers-5818805). I would like to have the light effect behind my 5K monitor. What do I need to purchase? This computer is in a room by itself. My video, homecinema, music, etc is in my livingroom not by my computer. They are in 2 different locations in the house. Thank you for your advice.
Hi,
You have 2 ways to drive Philips Hue immersive lighting:
OPTION-1. you rely on the Philips Hue box
OPTION-2. you rely on the Philips Hue SW
OPTION-1 benefits:
- can be used without SW (e.g. on a TV set)
- not intrusive (does not "overload" your PC.. even if the SW is really light)
=> I use it on my TV set
OPTION-2 benefits:
- cheaper
- does not require a configuration SW on the phone
=> I use it for gaming on my PC
Out of scope, but I cannot resist: Razer devices? Really?
I'm not sure I understand your question but I will answer it knowing that you have a configuration: TV screen in the living room and PC monitor in the office:
this is currently the configuration I have.
I have for the living room>
-Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip 65 "
-Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box
-Philips Hue Bridge
Office:
desktop application to manage the sync for philipps HUE
-Philips Hue Bridge
4x Philips Hue Play base
I took 2x the HUE Brige because you can only activate one syncro per bridge. if your PC is on is that your philipps connect to it are syncronize you will not be able to syncronize your tv screen. to remedy the concern I bought a 2nd bridge.
now I have the 2 sycro which are totally independent.
the sync box was developed for tv screens. the gradient is the best light to make the most of it. I hope I was able to help you
