The Huawei Band 8 impresses with its many functions for analysing training, long battery life and individual watch faces.
- Good display
- Various sport modes available
- Heart rate measurement inaccurate
- No GPS without a mobile
Although the Band 8 looks stylish and has various sports modes, it doesn't have much else going for it. The heart rate measurement is inaccurate and there is no GPS data during training without a smartphone. It is also hardly smart - apps and NFC are missing. At least Huawei can shine with good data protection.
Smartwatches and fitness wristbands are now real all-rounders: they serve as heart rate monitors and altimeters, count steps, calculate distance travelled and calories burned and analyse sleep patterns. Some can also be used to play music, make phone calls or send and receive messages. If you want, you can even find models that generate ECGs, measure blood pressure or enable contactless payment.
- Good display
- Various sport modes available
- Inaccurate heart rate measurement
- GPS dependent on smartphone
Huawei has retained the stylish design of its Band 8, but there are no major innovations. The new fitness tracker not only looks like a twin of its predecessor on the outside. Its successor is also plagued by problems such as inaccurate heart rate measurement and a lack of automatic training recognition...
