Only if you replace the power supply unit. This is easy to do as it is an SFX form factor. You can also fix the biggest shortcoming of the product: The O power supply does not have silent mode. So when you plug in the Thunderbolt to the laptop, the fans of the power supply run. Even if the laptop is not switched on.

I can only emphasise that "something like this" is not the target group of the case. The fans can be replaced, but I cannot judge whether there is enough space for a water cooling system. If in doubt, it is better to choose a card with fan cooling and take the overall length into account. TB3 also results in power losses, which is why this combination would also not be ideal. But otherwise, you will unfortunately have to try it out for yourself.

Hey! In principle, any card that complies with the maximum dimensions will fit: Max inner dimensions Length : 12.99"/ 330 mm Height*: 6.29" / 160 mm Width : 2.36" / 60 mm Power : 500 Watt Data from here: https://www.razer.com/gaming-egpus/razer-core-x/RC21-01430100-R3U1

Reading through reddit I find many different things. There's one post where someone put a RX 6800 XT inside the Core X and managed to get it running using Bootcamp. There's the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/kqd4xx/mac_mini_razer_core_x_amd_6800_xt/ Hope this helps you. Also read in a couple posts there may be some error messages. Powerwise it should run without a problem.

On a Mac with an Intel processor, I tried with Bootcamp and it works pretty much and with big drawbacks: the order of driver installation matters (especially if the machine already has a dedicated GPU) and the installation obtained at the end is far from perfect. I tried in a virtual machine too, but no, no chance because MacOS doesn't allow a pass trough to the GPU via Thunderbolt. For me the conclusion is simple: apart from a few applications on MacOS that use Metal correctly, don't expect anything special. And the situation gets worse with the arrival of the M1s: it's clear that Apple doesn't really want to deal with Intel CPU platforms anymore. The new M1s don't even support external GPUs anymore. My GPU is now only used to connect an external display to prevent the machine from overheating when connecting a Thunderbolt display directly to it, or to accelerate renders with FinalCut. On the other hand, it works perfectly on a Lenovo X1, either under Windows or Linux.

Hi, 1. the Razer Core is a TB3 device which also needs the power. Even with an adapter from TB2 to TB3 (which I don't think exists). Since the protocols are different, a "cable" is not enough here either, so I guess that won't work ;-) 2. in Chrome (LED's that are controllable) yes unbelievable but the price difference is a few LED's 3. yes in principle, but a Macbook with TB2 is already a few days old, maybe think about a new one with M1 process. Besides the extra performance, it also has various other advantages in terms of battery etc.

Yep, plugging in while running works, but if you just unplug the cable without shutting down the laptop (Win10 + nVidia for me) don't expect the monitors to light up again without rebooting the laptop (just tested for you). But with the USB and DP ports you have enough to connect any peripherals including network, so you got that going for you.

It could be that BitLocker is activated in Windows. Unfortunately, the eGPU is used for Bitlocker identification. To see this, go to the Windows key and type "Manage Bitlocker". If you disable Bitlocker, the computer should boot. To try this, you can also just say Ignore Bitlocker at next reboot (I think). Another possibility is to turn off Thunderbird Extension Support in the bios. I think playing with the parameters makes sense.

In itself, it works without a graphics card, but then you can only use the USB & RJ45 ports (which of course makes absolutely no sense for this price). If you want to use it as an eGPU, you have to install an additional graphics card (which is not included and has to be ordered separately). The latest graphics card models should all work, but older ones might have problems. So far I have tried the eGPU with the following graphics cards and all have worked without problems: GTX 1650 TI, RTX 2070S, RTX 2080S. Although this is not part of the question I would like to add that you need a Thunderbolt 3 port on the notebook, a pure USB-C port is NOT sufficient. (I have already seen several times that several users have not taken this into account).

I just had to install the graphics card drivers (in my case GeForce Experience). Then everything went smoothly. When you connect it for the first time, the Razer Synapse installer starts automatically (for controlling the LEDs).
