Another advantage is that exposure to toxic gases (e. g. hydrogen chloride gas in PVC) is reduced to a minimum. In addition, halogen-free cables are flame retardant and no dangerous ignition cord effect occurs.
Furthermore, halogen-free cables are low smoke in case of fire.
